Do they conduct this one primarily in Swiss German as well?

Jen, thank you. You always have the nicest things to say. I'm afraid my Grade 2 post isn't updated very well from this past year. I just added a few links in and marked the resources that I really loved... hopefully I will be able to get some other things up too, as we are still juggling the boundary between Grade 2 and 3 and I'm pulling lessons from both.

It makes me smile that people are finding inspiration here. I think it's so much nicer when we homeschooling families can share with each other-- books and advice are great, but they can be so static. I like to really "see" how things are applied in another person's home. --That said, where are all the Grade 6 bloggers? ;-)Sarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00694034873325873385noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26498457.post-58643588337148663862010-08-31T22:19:08.276+02:002010-08-31T22:19:08.276+02:00Awesome, as always, Sara! I listed your blog as one of inspiration for those of us doing Grade 2 :D in my recent blog post. It's a nice way to say, 'thank you' for sharing. I thought it deserved being answered by someone more awake than I was at the time. ;) I've just answered it. Goodness knows, there aren't many of us, especially in the German-speaking Cantons. I just read a bit of your blog, too-- looks like you've been doing fun stuff! I look forward to reading more! :)Sarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00694034873325873385noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26498457.post-72934076092480164972010-08-28T23:27:55.312+02:002010-08-28T23:27:55.312+02:00Eva, thanks for the sweet words. I'm wishing you a wonderful start to fourth grade! :)

Momasun, thanks. And it's so nice to hear someone else is doing mixed grades work, too. I love that about homeschooling!

Cathy, thank you so much for the kind words.

Kitty Bill was very interested in knitting about a year ago, just before he turned four. But now, like your son and others we know, he just wants to build things. I find it amazing-- and there are so many materials out there for them to explore with!

When it comes to reluctant knitters, I think half the battle might be in finding something they deem cool enough to make. IMO, anything that can be knit flat and sewed up is appropriate. I also plan to have my husband knit something at the same time-- it's one thing to see mom knit, but I think a boy will especially benefit from seeing his dad (or any male role model) knit-- and if they work on a project together, all the better. :)Sarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00694034873325873385noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26498457.post-72490906994595851292010-08-28T23:10:15.522+02:002010-08-28T23:10:15.522+02:00Hi Sara

We are just starting homeschooling (ds will be seven in a few weeks) grade one, and I feel so lucky to have the inspiration of blogs like yours. Your children are very blessed.

Just out of curiosity, your girls took to handwork readily and at a young age. Is Kitty Bill interested also? My son refuses.....oh well, does Lego count as handwork?
