As always, this is a work in progress. These are the resources available to me. We'll, see how many of these I actually use. It's in no way a complete list... but a good start nonetheless.
***Edit --I've updated the book list by putting the resources I loved in boldface. Hope that helps.***

  2. Sara, I was just looking at your work for grade 5. I was wondering how much time you spent on India and Atlantis. Did you do also some mythologies of Egypt, Persia, or Mesopotamia? What about the Greek myths?
I'm planning my grade 5 right now, but would like to change some things from the last time I taught it. How did you like to Kovacs book (Ancient Mythologies)?

  3. Eva, I think we spent about 4-6 weeks on Atlantis and India together. We covered Persia, Mesopotamia and Egypt, too. We didn't have enough time for Greece (short year for us with moving and vacations) so we're doing that now.

I can't recommend Kovacs' Ancient Mythologies highly enough. I loved everything about it. With his Ancient Greece book I found that he jumped right into the thick of things too quickly for my taste, so I'm using D'Aulaires Greek Myths for an introduction to the gods and goddesses, and then we'll head back into the Kovacs book.

I'll see if I can post some more pictures of our work in the next week.

    Hope that helps.

  4. Thank you so much, Sara. This happened to us this year. We only managed to cover Greece, but not Rome or the Middle Ages. So we'll have to get this in somehow this coming year. I've used D'Aulaires book as well and some stories from Gustav Schwab.

Live Education! doesn't cover Atlantis nor does it mention Buddha. So I was looking for some supplements.

I'm looking forward to your info on Ancient Egypt.
